Our firends the Kelly's are the new owners of the Wilmington, NC Comfort Keepers office. Prior to purchasing the franchise, Alyssa was employed in the health-care business market while Kevin came from a financial background.
They put that all aside to come to live by the Coast and partner with with Comfort Keepers, a growing national franchise which offers Companions and other in-home services for aging adults, new mothers, and others needing assistance to live in their own home.
Many families in the Wilmington area are attempting to balance the needs of aging loved ones with their own busy lives. Seniors who are in relatively good health and desperately want to continue living at home simply need help with daily activities. Comfort Keepers provides in-home services on an hourly, daily or weekly basis with tailored packages customized to an individual's needs. Packages include companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, incidental transportation, laundry, recreational activities and more. "We wanted to provide seniors with an option of care that allows them to remain independent in their home," Alyssa says, at the same time we were looking for a niche opportunity that we would both enjoy being involved with that would match our health-care and business related backgrounds."
Kevin adds "We will still be offering personal care services in addition to the companion care. In fact, we recently hired an RN to assist in training care givers for personal care as well as doing home assessments. Comfort Keepers is one of only a few companies in our area offering these services."
